Dead Like Me: Life After Death

I'm taking a little break from my hiatus to just drool over this. I never knew they were making a Dead Like Me movie! I can't wait for this, but now I definetely need to have a marathon party at my house so I can go see this movie with some of my friends. The movie is coming out February 17th, and omgomgomg I can't wait. This show was hilarious and should have lasted more than 2 seasons but at least now I get this. Hopefully the same thing will happen with Pushing Daisies. I wish the Daisy stayed the same but oh well.

Blah Blah Blah

Blah Blah Blah I'm in a bit of a bad place right now emotionally
Blah Blah Blah I need to focus on getting caught up with school
Blah Blah Blah Don't worry though, I'm feeling a lot better than I did last week or the week before that*
Blah Blah Blah basically I'm taking a break (ha, like you haven't noticed?) from blogging
Blah Blah Blah I'm also taking a break from twitter
Blah Blah Blah ideally I'll be back by late December or early January
Blah Blah Blah In advance, just in case I'm not active by then, I'm wishing that you have a nice winter break and Holiday celebration and a kick ass new year ;)
Ta ta for now

*thanks to family and friends,

Outrage

Avatar is a pretty awesome and kick ass cartoon that I'm a huge fan of.

It's been well known for a while that there's a movie in the works.

I just found out who's been casted for some of the main characters, and I'm so frustrated it isn't even funny.

Ummmm, why are my characters changing race on me? The Avatar fandom is infamous for their ability to fight over the silliest things. But but, if this is blatant racism, I don't know what is.

But Valentina aren't you being racist? Like come on maybe they're just better.
But Valentina white children will clearly have issues connecting to an asian actor so this is for the best.
But Valentina can't they just wear make-up?

These are things that have been said numerous times in different LJ communites and I just want to bury my head under a pillow and forget about this.

I'm not alone in my frustration and an LJ community has been created to try and get the castings reconsidered. Here's a quote from the site;

Saving the World With Postage

For those who don't already know: The actors who will play the main four characters of "The Last Airbender," the live action Avatar film, have been announced. And all of them are white.

I love Avatar, and have for a long time. But I'm pretty disappointed about this casting decision, and I know I'm not alone in that. This post is about what we can do.

Petitions are largely pointless. Emails are easily ignored. What we need to do is send real, paper letters to Paramount Pictures -- specifically, the two produces, Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall -- telling them why we're offended by their casting choices and what we want them to do about it.

Below is a guide for how to make your letter as effective as possible and where to send it once you're done.

Please feel free to link this to as many people as possible. The better organized we are and the more people we get to participate, the more likely it is that we'll make a difference in this mess!

And once you're done with your letter, post a photo of yourself holding it in the comments! (Or your action figure/stuffed animal/dog if you're camera shy)

I'm definetely writing and sending a letter off this weekend.

The Perfect Crime

“What is my perfect crime? I break into Tiffany’s at midnight. Do I go for the vault? No. I go for the chandelier; it’s priceless. As I’m taking it down, a woman catches me. She tells me to stop. It’s her father’s business. She’s Tiffany. I say no. We make love all night. In the morning the cops come and I escape in one of their uniforms. I tell her to meet me in Mexico but I go to Canada. I don’t trust her. Besides, I love the cold. Thirty years later I get a postcard. I have a son. And he’s the Chief of Police. This is where the story gets interesting: I tell Tiffany to meet me in Paris by the Trocadero. She’s been waiting for me all these years. She’s never taken another lover. I don’t care. I don’t show up. I go to Berlin. That’s where I stashed the chandelier.”

Valentina= a 18 year old girl with an intense love for life, color and style. My family is my life and I’m having a torrid affair with television and loving every second of it. I like my school and I love my friends and I’m learning to love myself too. I love playing around with clothes but I haven’t found the patience yet to be able to keep up with actual fashion. This is a me blog where I’ll write about my life, my outfits and anything else that comes to mind. "It is absurd to divide people into good & bad. The vast majority of the photos I use on this blog are not mine. Whenever possible I will credit photos but in some insistences this isn't possible. For example I have a collection of un-credited photos saved on my computer. So unless otherwise noted the photos on this blog are not mine. If you see an un-credited photo and it's yours (or you know who it belongs to) let me know so I can either take it down or give you credit.
